This is why I eat my skincare | Skincare Tuesdays | liquid collagen | Philly MUA | Natty Contrera Ar

While I am a makeup artist, I love not wearing a full coverage foundation and powder everywhere. Yes, I am here, writing this blog, stating I’d rather not wear makeup. Don't get me wrong, I love makeup. I love the beauty that a smooth complexion brings. I love a glitter eye with a wing liner just as much as I love the ease dewy fresh skin that just needs a little bit of mascara and a lip stain. This is why I started to eat my skincare. What do I mean exactly? Well, for starters, I started drinking a lot more water and eating water based veggies. Things like leafy greens, cucumbers, grapes and some other fruits are actually made up of about 95% water! This is a great way to increase my water intake while enjoying nutritious foods that I love. I also enjoy drinking fruit and veggie infused water. They add a hint of flavor while still giving me a vitamin packed beverage. In April I started eating liquid collagen. Collagen is an abundant, naturally produced protein that is found in our muscles and skin. As we age, collagen production slows down. A lack of this protein is what causes wrinkles, fat production, loose skin, less elasticity, lack of skin moisture and more. Healthy collagen levels are what gives our skin its strength and youthful appearance.

Even though we age every day, liquid collagen can help to replenish the collagen we naturally lose during the aging process. In addition to aging, sun exposure and free radicals in the air can also slow down the production of collagen. I personally saw results in as little as two weeks. I ate a tablespoon daily, and I’ve seen a big change in my skin. Since April, I have lost over 15 pounds, reduced any fine lines, reduced cellulite and felt an overall increase in the health of my bones and joints. Not to mention the wonderful increase of hair growth!

Collagen can help prevent or fix the following: fine lines, wrinkles, muscle and joint stiffness and pain, and leaky gut. It can help aid with hair and nail growth, produce healthy, more youthful skin and promote weight loss. As much as collagen has been amazing for its anti-aging properties, it is also beneficial for bacteria in the skin and reducing acne. I've come to the conclusion that Mary Poppins was not handing out a spoonful of sugar but in fact giving out a spoonful of collagen. If you're interested in hearing more about the exact collagen product I'm using, want a promo code, or if you have any questions at all, please feel free to email me. My information can be found on the contact page of my website! There are so many benefits to collagen, and I’d love to share them all with you.
