Reducing Waste as a Makeup Artist

Reducing Waste as a Makeup Artist

As artists, we love a good restock but overconsumption doesn’t look good on anyone. Plus, constantly trying new in your kit doesn't give you stability in your craft.

Building a more sustainable kit isn’t about the product as much as It's about the Intention.

Here are three ways to cut waste without cutting corners:

  1. Simplify Your Kit

Depot the bulky packaging, recycle the packaging and keep an inventory list so you don't over purchase brands. Plus, a streamlined kit saves space, reduces packaging, and makes setup a lot less chaotic. Honestly, our backs deserve this.

  2. Choose Multi-Tasking Products

Creams that work on lips, cheeks, and eyes are a win for both creativity and sustainability. Fewer products mean less waste, faster timing, and more flexibility in your looks.

Additional Notes:

  • Educate clients on your sustainable approach. It adds credibility and sets you apart.

  • Skip impulse buys. The planet (and your bank account) will thank you. We don't need another lipgloss (let me remind myself of this as well).

Want to restock your kit? Shop here. But, only if you need it.
